Holmes for Senate
October 18, 2006

Dear Neighbor,

It's three weeks to election day - we're entering the home stretch!

My campaign is going well, thanks to your support. I wanted to write you a quick note with an update on our progress, and to ask for your continued help these last few days.

Our mail to voters and our television ad have been very well received. Every time a new piece of mail goes out, my office gets calls from across the district asking for yard signs and offering to help. When I go door to door (more about that in a moment), I'm amazed by how many people recognize me from TV, and how many of them offer their support!

I've knocked on the doors of over 15,000 voters so far, and our volunteers have nearly doubled that number! Yard signs are popping up all over, and unlike my opponent, my signs are in real people's yards, not developers' open land.

I do need your help to get over the top. Please write back or call the office and let us know if you can help with any - or all! - of the following:

  • Can you can knock on a few doors, make some phone calls or stuff a few envelopes? We have individuals and groups working every day in our Plainfield office and at the Aurora Democrats headquarters.
  • Plan to help out the weekend before the election, when we'll be visiting thousands of homes in the district in a final push.
  • Take election day off and help us get voters to the polls - the race will be close, and it will be won on November 7th!
  • Get your yard sign, and get one or more for your neighbors.

Finally, I do need to ask for your financial support. So many people have done so much to help me, but we need to pull out the stops to win this seat. My opponent is using her political connections to bring in thousands of dollars in last-minute resources, which I need to match. I need your help to fund an aggressive, efficient get-out-the-vote operation, and every little bit helps. You can donate online at www.HolmesForSenate.com, or call my office for more information.

Thank you again for all you have done. With your support, we're building a brighter future for all our communities.

Linda
